A hard day

Hello, faithful readers.

It’s been a tough week, exercise-wise because of my longer hours at work. Today was an especially hard day because I found out I lost a dear friend to suicide.

The worst part is it happened six months ago and I had no idea. Thankfully, his brother found an e-mail from me and figured I had no idea what had happened. He reached out to me and I will be forever grateful for that because I had no idea what was going on, why I had stopped hearing from him, etc.

Now, I have to figure out how to cope with the loss of one of my best friends. I am so grateful for those of you out there who have already offered their support. It means so much. I can’t imagine ever being in a place where you feel you have nobody who cares about you. I suspect a lot of his pain came from the debilitating migraines he suffered from and the medications that made him not feel like himself. I think the combination of that plus stress at work and at home led to his breaking point and eventual overdose on pain medications. His poor body just couldn’t take anymore.

Because my friend was a runner, and a source of inspiration for me, I will continue to (hopefully) serve as a source of inspiration for others and run in his memory.

  1. i am so sorry to hear about your loss. i will keep you in my t&p’s.

  2. I’m so sorry for your loss. Hugs and thoughts and prayers to you.

  3. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I just found your blog, but wanted to offer my sympathy as well. Hopefully I can become one of your faithful readers as well and continue to support you in your good times and bad!
