On being productive.

I ran 7 miles this morning in 1:12:06; I have discovered a new trail in Walnut Creek, and it was beautiful! I’m really looking forward to the move, there are so many great trails just waiting to be discovered.

The house is coming along wonderfully! We are almost ready to move in!

We found a great TV stand, couch, and dining room table at Costco and were all set to buy everything until the company that does pickup/delivery from Costco f***ed us over – the girl at the company said, “oh, you don’t need a reservation, it’ll be empty because it’s Sunday” and as it turned out the truck was full and had just left when we got to Costco? WTF? So now we have to make another trip. The dining room table was sold out anyway, so we’ll have to buy it in SF and drive it up there…. but we can go back and get the couch next weekend. It worked out in a way because we still have to get the carpets cleaned, but it’s the principle of the thing – I hate when people don’t want to do their jobs and get lazy. How hard would it have been to make the reservation? We did buy the TV stand because the $100 rebate expired today.

We also bought blinds at Lowe’s, had them cut to fit the windows, and installed them ourselves. It’s so nice to have covered windows now! I feel much better about leaving the house empty during the week. Between blinds and ADT’s alarm system, we are good to go.

I think we are going to start moving stuff next weekend and be completely done by Feb. 7. Woohoo!

  1. Did you end up getting a couch like the one in your last post? That couch looks heavenly.

  2. I have a hard time loving Costco. I know it’s supposed to be awesome, but I hate going there. Your story sort of confirms it.

  3. I love reading about all this! I agree about Costco being a major pain. It’s a necessary evil as they carry some stuff we love (Naked Juice, local/organic chicken/etc) at great prices, but I really have yet to find a nice person working there…they are all so grouchy!

  4. i love the deals you can get at costco but sometime i have to question whether or not it’s worth it!
